OMG guys! These polishes are so beautifully holo that I just don't know what to say. So I'm just going to give you the swatches! All of the swatches are two coats with no base coat and no top coat. I took the photos (no flash) in my light box using a daylight bulb. <br />

<br />
I did a full mani with Miss Bliss and Beyond as accent nails and I used SH Insta-Dri Clearly Quick as my top coat and it did not dull the holo! I also love that I didn't have to use a special Aquabase base coat. I can never get that stuff to dry quickly enough. Words cannot even begin to express how happy I am with these polishes. I can't wait to experiment with layering one coat over darker polishes to see how they perform. <br />

Hey guys! I'm back like I promised with my french tip mani for Week 2 of the challenge.<br />
<br />
I used China Glaze Love Letters for the base. It's super sheer for sure, but adds just a touch of pink to enhance my nail. Once that dried, I put some tape down on a diagonal and painted on two coats of China Glaze Gothic Lolita from the spring 2012 Electropop collection. I used OPI Russian Navy to stamp on the snake print from plate BM-215.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NMJu2zzCNwg/UPAVsPOt4JI/AAAAAAAAEhw/EfSg-R-oPp4/s1600/IMG_0393.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NMJu2zzCNwg/UPAVsPOt4JI/AAAAAAAAEhw/EfSg-R-oPp4/s1600/IMG_0393.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
I really like this color it reminds me of one of my favorite crayons, thistle. I wish my camera would let you guys see the beautiful shimmer running through it, but it won't let me be great.<br />
<br />
I'll be back on Monday with a "Color Block" mani. I'm going to have a hard time trying to top <a href="http://ccmanicured.blogspot.com/2012/01/adventures-in-color-blocking.html">last year's look</a>. I was in love with that mani! <br />
<br />CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-13786043850716541112013-01-07T16:57:00.000-05:002013-01-07T16:57:55.013-05:00Happy New Year! Happy New Year! I'm about a week late, but you can forgive me right?<br />
<br />
I'm sorry about the unscheduled hiatus on the blog. I had a health scare that took me out of work and the blogging mood for a few months. Things are under control now and I'm glad to be able to get back to the business of creating manis that make me swoon. <br />
<br />
I'm restarting the Weekly Mani Challenge to get myself back into the
swing of things. So here's my winter/snow themed Week 1 "Make It
Sparkle" mani. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WG7gDET5Ku8/UOs8tG235uI/AAAAAAAAEgo/D2D7edIPTU0/s1600/lovelacelilacs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WG7gDET5Ku8/UOs8tG235uI/AAAAAAAAEgo/D2D7edIPTU0/s1600/lovelacelilacs.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started out with two coats of Nicole by OPI It's All About The Glam. Then I added one coat of Lynnderella Love, Lace and Lilacs. I sponged on Sally Hansen Whirlwind White on the tips to mimic snow. One coat of Gelous and two coats of Seche Vite top coat smoothed all that glitter and sponge work right on out!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm a week behind, so I'm going to have to get back here and post the week 2 challenge "French Tip" mani on Friday. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's to wishing you guys a wonderful 2013! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<br />CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-2274508838632772582012-04-02T07:00:00.008-04:002012-04-02T07:00:06.817-04:00StripedWeek 14 of my weekly mani challenge called for stripes, so here they are. Tiger stripes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OamvfX0SUsY/T3jfUF6jf7I/AAAAAAAAEfI/Q3ewRzMHjPo/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OamvfX0SUsY/T3jfUF6jf7I/AAAAAAAAEfI/Q3ewRzMHjPo/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><br />
This mani is grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! I drew my inspiration from Tony the Tiger and now I have an intense craving for Frosted Flakes. FAIL. My nails are supposed to take my mind OFF of food. LOL. <br />
<br />
Anywho, I've been in the mood for super bright colors lately, so I started this mani with three coats of China Glaze Japanese Koi (Neon). <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TigXfRP2Cx4/T3jZXZhJcpI/AAAAAAAAEe0/5wPvD3M5Z3U/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TigXfRP2Cx4/T3jZXZhJcpI/AAAAAAAAEe0/5wPvD3M5Z3U/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I love this color!!! It's soooooo bright. It dries down to a matte finish, but that's nothing a little top coat can't fix.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VaK6_BngKXQ/T3ja72YjJcI/AAAAAAAAEe4/N3JGnDSzM00/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VaK6_BngKXQ/T3ja72YjJcI/AAAAAAAAEe4/N3JGnDSzM00/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I added a coat of Icing Tiger's Blood--which has silver and gold glitter suspended in an orange jelly base.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VhvOXaxmeJU/T3jb_12b_JI/AAAAAAAAEe8/5Rsk8HxnzlI/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VhvOXaxmeJU/T3jb_12b_JI/AAAAAAAAEe8/5Rsk8HxnzlI/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fqp1FzZj4eA/T3jc--7TNVI/AAAAAAAAEfA/u1Pi0U_s05A/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fqp1FzZj4eA/T3jc--7TNVI/AAAAAAAAEfA/u1Pi0U_s05A/s400/image" width="400" /></a> </div><br />
I stamped on the tiger stripes from Konad plate M57 using American Apparel's Hassid.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FFih7nMScqg/T3jdcVH6JXI/AAAAAAAAEfE/JjSrKXpmAMw/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FFih7nMScqg/T3jdcVH6JXI/AAAAAAAAEfE/JjSrKXpmAMw/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><br />
This is such a fun look. I can't believe I hadn't done something like this before. Next week's look will be an Easter mani. I gotta get my creative juices flowing.CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-62818140987117282202012-04-01T10:37:00.001-04:002012-04-01T10:40:41.139-04:00Blue RuffianI was nervous to start my week 13 ruffian manicure. I'm not much of a fan of manis that involve creating "moon" shapes, but I really ended up loving this! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nZkvlvsn4Vc/T3hejSTWcaI/AAAAAAAAEck/49AjsEeDmIM/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="312" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nZkvlvsn4Vc/T3hejSTWcaI/AAAAAAAAEck/49AjsEeDmIM/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I started out with two coats of Sephora by OPI Bright As A Feather. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PmrKD7D2LkA/T3hbxzs6LxI/AAAAAAAAEcY/U_bNGSaBel0/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="330" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PmrKD7D2LkA/T3hbxzs6LxI/AAAAAAAAEcY/U_bNGSaBel0/s400/image" width="400" /> </a> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This is such a gorgeous robin's egg metallic blue. I was pleasantly surprised by the formula. Sephora by OPI shades can tend to be on the sheer side, but I got full coverage at two thin coats. Win. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cmYdclrf5xc/T3hcKk7fUvI/AAAAAAAAEcc/9zG1210G-Ys/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="343" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cmYdclrf5xc/T3hcKk7fUvI/AAAAAAAAEcc/9zG1210G-Ys/s400/image" width="400" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I paired it with Barielle's Blackened Blue that I got recently from a Hautelook sale. I love this combo! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4rhtHMkvD9k/T3hk3dyJmNI/AAAAAAAAEco/lNbKOYvijXQ/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="372" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4rhtHMkvD9k/T3hk3dyJmNI/AAAAAAAAEco/lNbKOYvijXQ/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div>My crescent moon shape isn't pristine because I freehanded the ruffian. I didn't feel like waiting for my base color to dry completely to be able to use french manicure guides like I've seen suggested elsewhere. Eh, I'm still happy with the results. It looks pretty good from the front though. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3CjAd0Gvklc/T3hlqcSBAaI/AAAAAAAAEcs/g2xBbmhvGwI/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3CjAd0Gvklc/T3hlqcSBAaI/AAAAAAAAEcs/g2xBbmhvGwI/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I'll have my week 14 striped mani to share with you tomorrow. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tSNAjNuLrD4/T3csleHcJLI/AAAAAAAAEaQ/BU6zWJRXktE/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="305" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tSNAjNuLrD4/T3csleHcJLI/AAAAAAAAEaQ/BU6zWJRXktE/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I fashioned my skittles mani, after what else, but Skittles! Specifically the Wild Berry pack, which is my favorite kind. For the wild cherry flavor, I used Essie Really Red; for the strawberry I went with Orly Coquette Cutie, for Berry Punch I used OPI Honk If You Love OPI, the raspberry is Pure Ice French Kiss and melon berry is Color Club Twiggie. I used a white acrylic paint to freehand the "S" printed on the candies.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wnGm2qIGr80/T3ctg5p28RI/AAAAAAAAEaU/fcDsf-iJdq4/s1600/image" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="323" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wnGm2qIGr80/T3ctg5p28RI/AAAAAAAAEaU/fcDsf-iJdq4/s400/image" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I love all these colors.<br />

Now I want skittles. I'll have my week 13, ruffian mani for you tomorrow and then I'll be set to show you my week 14 striped mani on Monday!CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-66858721114272448962012-03-14T12:16:00.000-04:002012-03-14T12:16:47.608-04:00I'm So JadedIf there ever was an oxymoron for a nail polish name Wet 'n Wild's I'm So Jaded from the Spoiled line is definitely it. There is absolutely nothing boring or dull about this polish. I don't know how an almost neon lime green polish with golden shimmer could ever be described that way. See! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ixhtt6iX6i4/T2C9DDl8D_I/AAAAAAAAEXg/DIHaFu1T61U/s1600/IMG_0331.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ixhtt6iX6i4/T2C9DDl8D_I/AAAAAAAAEXg/DIHaFu1T61U/s400/IMG_0331.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Whoa! It's almost blindingly bright.Definitely a fun look. I wonder if this would look good as a pedi. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hhZrfy8cKRg/T2C9ecQcQQI/AAAAAAAAEXo/FW2dA1KUTuI/s1600/IMG_0336.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="353" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hhZrfy8cKRg/T2C9ecQcQQI/AAAAAAAAEXo/FW2dA1KUTuI/s400/IMG_0336.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
And you know I couldn't just leave this alone, so.....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-diFT8TaIH5I/T2C-ALgM-fI/AAAAAAAAEXw/cu5y5tnZMqc/s1600/IMG_0337.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-diFT8TaIH5I/T2C-ALgM-fI/AAAAAAAAEXw/cu5y5tnZMqc/s400/IMG_0337.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div>I stamped some shamrock's down the side with Color Club Artsy Crafty from the Back to Boho collection. The image is from Cheeky plate CH26, from their 2012 set. I do wish the image had come out a tad darker, but hey there's still plenty of contrast.<br />
<br />
Are you guys enjoying this green week? I gotta figure out what to do for tomorrow's post.CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-17206547945466716482012-03-13T13:09:00.000-04:002012-03-13T13:09:25.419-04:00Did It On 'EmYep. I have another green mani for you guys!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PJfXtQ1WOhw/T193SV8xijI/AAAAAAAAEU4/GcglyT_eHx0/s1600/IMG_0329.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PJfXtQ1WOhw/T193SV8xijI/AAAAAAAAEU4/GcglyT_eHx0/s400/IMG_0329.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
This one's featuring OPI Did It On 'Em from the Nicki Menaj collection and OPI Fresh Frog of Bel-Air from the Muppets collection.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VYp6IHZcRMM/T190vCBfDtI/AAAAAAAAEUo/lt9cwoFk54g/s1600/IMG_0324.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VYp6IHZcRMM/T190vCBfDtI/AAAAAAAAEUo/lt9cwoFk54g/s400/IMG_0324.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>Did It On 'Em is this wonderful yellow-green creme. I did two coats here. The first coat was streaky, but the second evened that all out. It reminds me of Fiercely Fiona from the Shrek collection. I don't have that one though so I can't compare.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-leA4V-fFcP0/T191QRAFzjI/AAAAAAAAEUw/qYtuf_x1Hoc/s1600/IMG_0325.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="326" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-leA4V-fFcP0/T191QRAFzjI/AAAAAAAAEUw/qYtuf_x1Hoc/s400/IMG_0325.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I love this way more than I thought I would. I picked it up on a whim when I bought the other shades in the collection and I'm glad I did.<br />
<br />
<br />
I like Fresh Frog of Bel-Air, but I don't think it went too well with Did It On 'Em. I think the silver hex glitters in it clashes with it's yellow tone. Ah well. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fC4dWKpDXhQ/T19-fwYxDqI/AAAAAAAAEVA/lrn7bA5YzbE/s1600/IMG_0330.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="352" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fC4dWKpDXhQ/T19-fwYxDqI/AAAAAAAAEVA/lrn7bA5YzbE/s400/IMG_0330.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>Stay tuned for more green. </a></div>Hey guys! Are you ready for my Week 11 mani?!? This one is St. Patrick's Day themed. I don't wear my green nail polishes nearly enough so I was super excited to do this look! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2tj7PhGIxs8/T14DN4J3J7I/AAAAAAAAES4/aJqKgTjCffY/s1600/IMG_0320.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="307" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2tj7PhGIxs8/T14DN4J3J7I/AAAAAAAAES4/aJqKgTjCffY/s400/IMG_0320.JPG" width="400" /></a></div> I started this look with two coats of Milani Hi-Tech, a yellow-green scattered holographic polish. These pictures don't do any justice to this polish. It really looks amazing in sunlight! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Uuq65Ws2QSE/T138owtR3gI/AAAAAAAAESQ/KfCGtLVwRVU/s1600/IMG_0315.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="376" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Uuq65Ws2QSE/T138owtR3gI/AAAAAAAAESQ/KfCGtLVwRVU/s400/IMG_0315.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Here you can see how it forms a scattered rainbow "flame." Super gorgeous! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FR-b5S25u20/T139KD_KGOI/AAAAAAAAESY/amlAfkrGUSE/s1600/IMG_0316.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="340" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FR-b5S25u20/T139KD_KGOI/AAAAAAAAESY/amlAfkrGUSE/s400/IMG_0316.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>I wanted to practice my freehand nail art, so I pulled out a green acrylic paint and a fine nail art brush. I made little shamrock shapes by putting two heart shapes together. Not perfect, but I was relatively happy with it. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YUgmaNWJEk8/T14B6H1WbLI/AAAAAAAAESo/_qRJgMP3gw0/s1600/IMG_0319.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="317" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YUgmaNWJEk8/T14B6H1WbLI/AAAAAAAAESo/_qRJgMP3gw0/s400/IMG_0319.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
And you guys know me and glitter so I added a layer of Sinful Colors Call Me Later, which has different shades of green and gold glitter in a clear base. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KwI9mHHRqLc/T14Fnu1MrwI/AAAAAAAAETA/-0Jx-B2W8Q0/s1600/IMG_0321.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="353" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KwI9mHHRqLc/T14Fnu1MrwI/AAAAAAAAETA/-0Jx-B2W8Q0/s400/IMG_0321.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I love it! I'm on a green kick so expect to see more this week!CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-18512296625872732052012-03-07T09:09:00.000-05:002012-03-07T09:09:01.458-05:00Pink Polka Dot WednesdayHey guys! Please excuse the tardiness of my Week 10 mani challenge. Polka Dots! Let's give a warm welcome back to Pink Wednesday. I can't even remember the last pink mani I showed you guys. Shame! Anyway, without further ado here's the mani.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wvnPfSdui9U/T1dlEk4c4MI/AAAAAAAAEPk/4_rugmmG4H8/s1600/IMG_0308.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wvnPfSdui9U/T1dlEk4c4MI/AAAAAAAAEPk/4_rugmmG4H8/s400/IMG_0308.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I started with two coats of Milani Bare in Mind. It came out in that Bare It All collection in 2010.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7zE2eG7ntMs/T1djObXisuI/AAAAAAAAEPU/-sTEdR2dMSY/s1600/IMG_0305.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7zE2eG7ntMs/T1djObXisuI/AAAAAAAAEPU/-sTEdR2dMSY/s400/IMG_0305.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
The color is very sheer and the only reason I was able to get away with two coats is because I used Nail Life Ridge Filler over my usual base coat--Pro-FX Epoxy Bond--in case you were wondering.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Gpx-Y1PkNOU/T1dkcjkAYGI/AAAAAAAAEPc/NptZ-Qy8fdo/s1600/IMG_0306.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Gpx-Y1PkNOU/T1dkcjkAYGI/AAAAAAAAEPc/NptZ-Qy8fdo/s400/IMG_0306.JPG" width="400" /></a></div> I love this color and it has a nice pink shimmer to it, that my camera didn't pick up that well.<br />
<br />
For the polka dots I used Pinky Brown from Model's Own Beetlejuice Collection. <a href="http://www.scrangie.com/2012/03/models-own-beetlejuice-collection-for.html">I hear they're coming out with three more Beetlejuice shades for spring/summer 2012.</a> The promo shots look amazing! I'm certainly intrigued.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8h6dR-kgFA8/T1do-xYFxzI/AAAAAAAAEPs/TaUbnawhxTM/s1600/IMG_0312.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8h6dR-kgFA8/T1do-xYFxzI/AAAAAAAAEPs/TaUbnawhxTM/s400/IMG_0312.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Anyway, back to Pinky Brown. It's a very glittery duochrome shade and shifts between a magenta pink and a bronzy brown. I like the contrast. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-srvSwy9h_08/T1dp2Ls1L6I/AAAAAAAAEP0/LpsJ6V301RY/s1600/IMG_0310.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-srvSwy9h_08/T1dp2Ls1L6I/AAAAAAAAEP0/LpsJ6V301RY/s400/IMG_0310.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
I'm pleased with this mani! Much better than last week's challenge for sure.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mGaqnkuSAaA/T1drV0s8VjI/AAAAAAAAEP8/sgpJQaqjqGQ/s1600/IMG_0313.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mGaqnkuSAaA/T1drV0s8VjI/AAAAAAAAEP8/sgpJQaqjqGQ/s400/IMG_0313.JPG" width="365" /></a></div><br />
Next week's challenge is a St. Patrick's Day mani. I'm excited about digging through my green stash to see what I can come up with! So friends I'll leave you with a wish for a lovely Pink Wednesday! Are you guys rocking your pink today?CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-22274657320573631812012-02-27T12:10:00.000-05:002012-02-27T12:10:45.167-05:00Week 9: Vintage Mani FAILHey guys, it's Week 9 of this yearlong mani challenge I'm on. I'm putting this Vintage mani in the FAIL column.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nGrmujPUOy8/T0u0QisUWUI/AAAAAAAAELU/TDpfvh99lqE/s1600/IMG_0285.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nGrmujPUOy8/T0u0QisUWUI/AAAAAAAAELU/TDpfvh99lqE/s400/IMG_0285.JPG" width="400" /></a> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Yuck! I really really really don't like this. But in the name of the challenge I did it and posted it.I started with one coat of China Glaze Heaven, a sheer shimmery light peach color, because I was trying to camouflage my yellow tips a little bit--not that it actually worked.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U-zHtqQ1CRw/T0u1VtjbUSI/AAAAAAAAELc/lEuCFiYEGSQ/s1600/IMG_0279.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U-zHtqQ1CRw/T0u1VtjbUSI/AAAAAAAAELc/lEuCFiYEGSQ/s400/IMG_0279.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> <br />
I used reinforcement stickers and tape to divide my nail area. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UCktE8Wg25E/T0u2eoDLPHI/AAAAAAAAELk/doaUWRD_3qY/s1600/IMG_0283.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UCktE8Wg25E/T0u2eoDLPHI/AAAAAAAAELk/doaUWRD_3qY/s400/IMG_0283.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Then I painted the center with China Glaze Winter Berry--a really nice deep jelly red, and took off the tape and reinforcements as soon as I finished painting each nail. I tried to clean up my lines with my cleanup brush and acetone. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LduF102TqDM/T0u3GHS9IrI/AAAAAAAAELs/qPxJvPrLYXM/s1600/IMG_0286.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LduF102TqDM/T0u3GHS9IrI/AAAAAAAAELs/qPxJvPrLYXM/s400/IMG_0286.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div>So yea FAIL. Once I saw how this was turning out I decided to only do these four fingers you see and as soon as I snapped these photos this came off with the quickness. I don't even have the desire to ever try this again and see if it turns out better. It's just that bad.<br />
<br />
Anyway, hopefully next week's polka dot challenge leaves me with a mani I can actually wear for more than five minutes.CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-49188293857108326752012-02-22T07:00:00.000-05:002012-02-22T07:00:05.732-05:00Milani Color Play SwatchesI was in CVS the other day and I saw the new Milani Color Play collection. It had been a while since I had seen a new Milani collection that I was actually interested in so I was excited. I picked up four of the six colors. There was also a silver called Silver Stiletto and pink called Tip Toe Pink included in the collection, but they didn't excite me much so I left them. <br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--IFGGuW4zYA/T0AYQ0qtEpI/AAAAAAAAEBs/iFLnaPYAIXM/s1600/IMG_0249.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--IFGGuW4zYA/T0AYQ0qtEpI/AAAAAAAAEBs/iFLnaPYAIXM/s400/IMG_0249.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">L-R: Sail Away, Orchidia, Mint Candy, Beach Front</td></tr>
</tbody></table><br />
Sail Away denim blue with very strong silver shimmer running through it. I did two coats here, but I could have easily gotten away with one had I not been trying to camouflage the patch on my middle finger nail. As you can see it dries a bit darker than bottle color, but that's alright with me. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6I1TEi1P0UY/T0AZwDlR8FI/AAAAAAAAEB0/ufIuMFnly0k/s1600/IMG_0248.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6I1TEi1P0UY/T0AZwDlR8FI/AAAAAAAAEB0/ufIuMFnly0k/s400/IMG_0248.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Mint Candy. My absolute favorite of the collection. It's a pretty turquoise with this awesome light turquoise shimmer running through it. Two coats shown here. It's a bit greener than my swatch shows here though. I love tone on tone shimmer. It excites me! LOL. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-alHlYqL7tUA/T0AeetUr1CI/AAAAAAAAECk/EGGBMrhBsnM/s1600/IMG_0235.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="336" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-alHlYqL7tUA/T0AeetUr1CI/AAAAAAAAECk/EGGBMrhBsnM/s400/IMG_0235.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Orchidia, runner up for my favorite in the collection. I tried to color correct this photo a bit as my camera absolutely refuses to show the true color of any purple. It's a purple that leans towards the pink end of the spectrum and it has this great silver shimmer running through it to keep it interesting. As with the others I did two coats here. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1hCfCC3-sPE/T0AiGIZYQ4I/AAAAAAAAECs/7yl5ze0sCho/s1600/IMG_0239.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1hCfCC3-sPE/T0AiGIZYQ4I/AAAAAAAAECs/7yl5ze0sCho/s400/IMG_0239.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
And the last of the four I picked up, Beach Front, a pretty sky blue color with silver shimmer. Again two easy coats for this swatch. It looks like it could be a cousin of OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam and OPI I Have a Herring Problem from the Holland Collection. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t5727QB1osM/T0Al_M9dZ4I/AAAAAAAAEC0/sJymis6wEIg/s1600/IMG_0230.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t5727QB1osM/T0Al_M9dZ4I/AAAAAAAAEC0/sJymis6wEIg/s400/IMG_0230.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I really like all of these. The formula is really smooth and easy to work with. Two coats and you're set. Have you guys seen these yet? Are you planning on getting any of these? If you haven't spotted them at CVS, they're available on MilaniCosmetics.com for $4.49.CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-80629416523619542982012-02-21T08:59:00.001-05:002012-02-21T09:04:28.795-05:00Mardi Gras ManiHey guys! It's Fat Tuesday! Yay! To celebrate, I went with a traditional purple, green and gold theme for my Mardi Gras mani.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UDftJmwNaDA/T0OgkJ3tAsI/AAAAAAAAEJs/Ut__94X7vmQ/s1600/IMG_0274.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="317" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UDftJmwNaDA/T0OgkJ3tAsI/AAAAAAAAEJs/Ut__94X7vmQ/s400/IMG_0274.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I started with two coats of L'Oreal's Amazon Flash, a super sparkly yellow toned gold. I still had visible nail line after two coats, but I knew I was layering another glitter over it so I didn't let that bother me. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_6hxdrjmX3I/T0OdqsivMoI/AAAAAAAAEJQ/ywTpxhJ4Xxo/s1600/IMG_0271.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_6hxdrjmX3I/T0OdqsivMoI/AAAAAAAAEJQ/ywTpxhJ4Xxo/s400/IMG_0271.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0PUvVuc97Qo/T0OeVHnxZGI/AAAAAAAAEJc/PhjmVy7Zyms/s1600/IMG_0270.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0PUvVuc97Qo/T0OeVHnxZGI/AAAAAAAAEJc/PhjmVy7Zyms/s400/IMG_0270.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Then I topped that with two coats of China Glaze Marry a Millionaire, which is seriously Mardi Gras in a bottle. It has purple, green and gold bar glitter in a clear base. So perfect for the occasion! It does dry with a gritty finish so be prepared to use your favorite glitter taming combo. I used one coat of Gelous and then one coat of Pro-FX Quick Dry. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-raGn9FYwO3Y/T0OfaswNZ9I/AAAAAAAAEJk/k4YmXGGphSA/s1600/IMG_0275.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="362" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-raGn9FYwO3Y/T0OfaswNZ9I/AAAAAAAAEJk/k4YmXGGphSA/s400/IMG_0275.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
It's like Mardi Gras confetti in polish form! I love this! My family is Guyanese and we celebrate this day as Shrove Tuesday. I'm waiting for my mom to call me with her Shrove Tuesday pancake recipe and then I'll be all set! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UDftJmwNaDA/T0OgkJ3tAsI/AAAAAAAAEJs/Ut__94X7vmQ/s1600/IMG_0274.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="317" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UDftJmwNaDA/T0OgkJ3tAsI/AAAAAAAAEJs/Ut__94X7vmQ/s400/IMG_0274.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I originally wanted to stamp a mask design over this, but the image was huge and didn't fit on my ring finger, so I just left it as is. Simple, but still very blingy and festive. I hope you guys enjoy your day. Did you do a festive mani? <a href="https://twitter.com/#%21/ccmanicured">Tweet me</a> some pics!CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-41838157336893707452012-02-20T07:00:00.003-05:002012-02-20T07:00:01.247-05:00Week 8: Corset ManiHappy Monday guys! I'm so happy to be off work today! I can't believe eight weeks of this challenge has already gone by. I was excited about trying out this corset look until I sat down to do it. Oh what a pain in the butt this mani was. I tried out several variations with rhinestones and stamping but those were uber fails, so I settled on freehand. I always forget how bad I am at freehand nail art until I sit down to do it. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-B3il2nC7fdk/T0EfYSEcGmI/AAAAAAAAEG0/qJpzyIB-jqQ/s1600/IMG_0268.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-B3il2nC7fdk/T0EfYSEcGmI/AAAAAAAAEG0/qJpzyIB-jqQ/s400/IMG_0268.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Here's a pictures strip to show the progression of the manicure.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qPPOHO1aN7E/T0Ed9N4hEjI/AAAAAAAAEGs/gE8vx1e8yMI/s1600/corset.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qPPOHO1aN7E/T0Ed9N4hEjI/AAAAAAAAEGs/gE8vx1e8yMI/s1600/corset.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I started the mani with two coats of Sinful Colors Tutu from their Valentine's Heartbreaker collection. Not bad for a sheer light pink. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FvDkCcDPWPE/T0Eg6cq5UfI/AAAAAAAAEG8/SNkJTkEfoYg/s1600/IMG_0253.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FvDkCcDPWPE/T0Eg6cq5UfI/AAAAAAAAEG8/SNkJTkEfoYg/s400/IMG_0253.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Then I did some stamping with Sally Hansen Pink Satin and Red Angel image plate 106. I did a poor job on my ring finger, but I didn't figure it would matter much since I was going to be adding large amounts of black.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9zcU5niRKW4/T0EiiKSWkdI/AAAAAAAAEHE/x5MyWTIphtU/s1600/IMG_0257.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9zcU5niRKW4/T0EiiKSWkdI/AAAAAAAAEHE/x5MyWTIphtU/s400/IMG_0257.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used American Apparel Hassid to create the two black panels on the side Sally Hansen Silver Chrome for the lace hooks and a black acrylic paint for the laces. I topped all that with Orly Fifty-Four for some shimmer. You guys know how I am about shimmer. Loves it! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-plBdwfBS1Bk/T0Ej9KCNT5I/AAAAAAAAEHM/F05z0StORxM/s1600/IMG_0267.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-plBdwfBS1Bk/T0Ej9KCNT5I/AAAAAAAAEHM/F05z0StORxM/s400/IMG_0267.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Definitely not my best work, but it'll do. Next week's challenge is for a Vintage mani--what does that even mean? I'm glad I have all week to think about it. Thanks for stopping by and if you have any ideas about vintage mani look feel free to leave me a comment. </div>CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-6125587074072354692012-02-19T19:25:00.000-05:002012-02-19T19:25:44.896-05:00Versatile Blogger AwardHey guys! I'm so excited that I'm actually posting my Week 7 Challenge Mani on time! Whoo hoo!<br />
<br />
I wanted to try out the Watercolor manicure trend I've seen floating around various blogs and YouTube channels. Once you have your base color applied the basic idea is to apply various dots of color and spread them out with a brush dipped in acetone. Simple!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D3npKZnaNL0/TzkKlZ3JNMI/AAAAAAAAD50/9keAO7NNPoo/s1600/IMG_2051.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="357" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D3npKZnaNL0/TzkKlZ3JNMI/AAAAAAAAD50/9keAO7NNPoo/s400/IMG_2051.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> Here's what I used to create this look. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xnyXMsaQfMs/TzkRWH-fwnI/AAAAAAAAD6E/miQFZFfMnCg/s1600/IMG_2054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="305" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xnyXMsaQfMs/TzkRWH-fwnI/AAAAAAAAD6E/miQFZFfMnCg/s400/IMG_2054.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">L-R: Revlon Calla Lily, Revlon Frankly Scarlet, Revlon Temptress, Revlon Ruby Ribbons</td></tr>
</tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I started this mani with one coat of Revlon Calla Lily over two coats of Nail Life Ridge Filler. Then I used Revlon Frankly Scarlet, Revlon Ruby Ribbons and Revlon Temptress for the watercolor design. Then I topped all of that with another coat of Revlon Calla Lily for some extra sparkle.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yaoZHcJ-pZQ/TzkNnIwFzCI/AAAAAAAAD58/yB1B0ykF-P4/s1600/IMG_2052.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="278" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yaoZHcJ-pZQ/TzkNnIwFzCI/AAAAAAAAD58/yB1B0ykF-P4/s400/IMG_2052.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I love the way this turned out. It's so girly and it sorta looks like abstract roses. Appropriate for Valentine's Day right? </div><br />
Have you guys tried out this type of mani? I'm loving it and really want to experiment with some other colors. I'm thinking a purple, green and yellow could look really hot for Spring--which I am impatiently waiting on! It's too cold in my neck of the woods.CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-75734504429748304922012-02-08T10:08:00.000-05:002012-02-08T10:08:12.216-05:00Peach Wednesday Challenge Mani I'm soooo late posting my Week 6 challenge half-moon mani. But here it is! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8l_JS42YBgE/TzKLqZ4jgHI/AAAAAAAAD3I/HFHyltIe7aE/s1600/IMG_2039.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="301" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8l_JS42YBgE/TzKLqZ4jgHI/AAAAAAAAD3I/HFHyltIe7aE/s400/IMG_2039.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I used two coats of Essie A Crewed Affair which is a peachy-pink. Does this count for Pink Wednesday? Well I'm calling it Peach Wednesday. I really need to get back to posting my pinks, but I haven't used one in a while.<br />
<br />
I topped the Essie with one coat of the sparkle coat from the Nailene Artist Expressions Warm set. I don't really like this style of manicure on me, so to jazz it up I added some dots down the side using Essie Go Overboard.<br />
<br />
Here's a bit of a blurry shot so you can see some more of the sparkle from the Nailene. I like it. I can't wait to use it over some different colors. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XZS09spDI-8/TzKMTKRKrXI/AAAAAAAAD3Q/_rDL4GlPdsQ/s1600/IMG_2041.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XZS09spDI-8/TzKMTKRKrXI/AAAAAAAAD3Q/_rDL4GlPdsQ/s400/IMG_2041.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Next week's challenge is a Valentine's mani. I really need to settle down on an idea. Hope you guys are having a fantastic week so far!CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-61791585733511640012012-02-02T08:24:00.000-05:002012-02-02T08:24:17.399-05:00Icing Magnetix SwatchesLast week I picked up Icing's four-color collection of magnetic polishes. They are super glittery and the magnets on these work great. <br />

Unfortunately they are nameless. There are two different types of magnets--one produces straight lines and the other wavy ones. I like that the cap is removable, like<a href="http://ccmanicured.blogspot.com/2011/11/31-days-of-manis-day-6-nails-inc-houses.html"> the ones by Nails Inc</a>. <br />
<br />
All these swatches are of one coat ( Love that!) no top coat or base coat. <br />
<br />
First up, the green/golden color. This one came with the straight magnet. It also had a wonky brush, so you might want to check for that. It wasn't unusable though, but it's something to look out for. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j4rBpw9PoOo/TybeZj_QTiI/AAAAAAAADy4/a4562rKb6qY/s1600/IMG_2010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j4rBpw9PoOo/TybeZj_QTiI/AAAAAAAADy4/a4562rKb6qY/s400/IMG_2010.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>As you can see by the time I got to my index finger (I start my manis and swatches with my pinky) I flipped the magnet and got the lines going in the opposite direction. I totally did not do this on purpose. I wasn't paying attention and then when I looked down at the result I was all "one of these things is not like the others." LOL. So yea if you want all your lines going in the same direction pay close attention to how you hold your magnet. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xstZWyOvJNk/Tycdp2V5zJI/AAAAAAAADzA/5k3KDZdF7fE/s1600/IMG_2014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xstZWyOvJNk/Tycdp2V5zJI/AAAAAAAADzA/5k3KDZdF7fE/s400/IMG_2014.JPG" width="400" /></a> </div>I got the hang of it by the time I started using the black/gray/silver one. This one also came with the straight lines magnet. I feel like if I were to name these I'd call this one tire tracks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q5wY-cldtJU/TyceyxT69OI/AAAAAAAADzI/zF2KMxlXD78/s1600/IMG_2015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="310" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q5wY-cldtJU/TyceyxT69OI/AAAAAAAADzI/zF2KMxlXD78/s400/IMG_2015.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>I didn't really expect to like the pink/magenta one as much as I did, but it turned out to be my favorite of the four. Mine came with the wavy magnet, so that's what I used for this swatch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2TI6Mpvbc4M/TycfzXeoNXI/AAAAAAAADzQ/C_e6cQOYnmM/s1600/IMG_2021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2TI6Mpvbc4M/TycfzXeoNXI/AAAAAAAADzQ/C_e6cQOYnmM/s400/IMG_2021.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Then I rotated the wavy magnet, using the blue shade. I really like the look of the wavy lines going vertically. It gives it a ocean wave feel. I love the lighter blue against the darker one. Be careful with this though, it has the potential to be a stainer. <br />
<br />
How are you guys feeling about the magnetic nail trend? I'm loving it. I'm all for quick and easy nail art. I'd love to see a neon one. That could be so awesome!<br />
<br />
The Icing Magnetix retail for $9.50, but you can get them buy one get one 50 percent off. Good deal I'd say. Don't you know it was exactly where it was supposed to be--in the Revlon drawer in my helmer. Yes I have an entire helmer drawer devoted to Revlon. What can I say, between CVS putting many of them on clearance during their beauty clearance and various other drug store sales I've managed to amass around 75 of them.<br />
<br />
I don't know how I managed to overlook it the other night. But all is good, she was not lost at all! Anyway here's one coat of Whimsical over yesterday's mani, Sinful Colors Cinderella.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jaLWEnjDiwE/TyllJGe8ehI/AAAAAAAAD1U/dO1t3EZjhCQ/s1600/IMG_2036.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jaLWEnjDiwE/TyllJGe8ehI/AAAAAAAAD1U/dO1t3EZjhCQ/s400/IMG_2036.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Cinderella is a perfect base for Whimsical which is very very sheer. I'd probably never wear Whimsical alone. <br />
<br />
As a reminder here's a shot of Cinderella alone. Two coats. Could have gone for a third, but I was tired. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XyK-AUsn5Pc/TyglGqVol9I/AAAAAAAAD0E/wSUwYY_c7kI/s1600/IMG_2029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XyK-AUsn5Pc/TyglGqVol9I/AAAAAAAAD0E/wSUwYY_c7kI/s400/IMG_2029.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I managed to get the pink hex glitters on all my nails save the index. I feel like my nails are screaming, let's go to a baby shower! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UNNqoM6eREg/TylnwQtY4hI/AAAAAAAAD1c/Drgisbb9oKI/s1600/IMG_2033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UNNqoM6eREg/TylnwQtY4hI/AAAAAAAAD1c/Drgisbb9oKI/s400/IMG_2033.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Looks just like the bottle.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7KgKbFOuaiY/TylpCEDsuOI/AAAAAAAAD1k/DBNTJt2ecHo/s1600/IMG_2034.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7KgKbFOuaiY/TylpCEDsuOI/AAAAAAAAD1k/DBNTJt2ecHo/s400/IMG_2034.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
These two were made for each other. I'm glad I was able to bring them together. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Smi2ylDYqhk/Tylp5rfRSWI/AAAAAAAAD1s/2eBOm5Xs5aQ/s1600/IMG_2035.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Smi2ylDYqhk/Tylp5rfRSWI/AAAAAAAAD1s/2eBOm5Xs5aQ/s400/IMG_2035.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
So what do you guys think? Have you found either of these? Still on the hunt? If you have them, try them together. It's pretty.CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-90992612379752702832012-01-31T12:51:00.000-05:002012-01-31T12:51:53.584-05:00Sinful Colors CinderellaWhen I caught wind of this new Sinful Colors polish I knew I had to track it down. I ventured to three Walgreens to find it but oh so worth it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XyK-AUsn5Pc/TyglGqVol9I/AAAAAAAAD0E/wSUwYY_c7kI/s1600/IMG_2029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XyK-AUsn5Pc/TyglGqVol9I/AAAAAAAAD0E/wSUwYY_c7kI/s400/IMG_2029.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>This color is so beautiful I don't even really mind the slight hint of visible nail line that I still have after two coats of this polish. I could have added a third coat, but as usual it was late when I did this mani and I didn't feel like adding the third layer. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jMWRuiI1pjI/TygmPcmjmGI/AAAAAAAAD0U/DdA7O6EO_U8/s1600/IMG_2030.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jMWRuiI1pjI/TygmPcmjmGI/AAAAAAAAD0U/DdA7O6EO_U8/s400/IMG_2030.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Do you see the shimmer on this baby?!? It's pink, it's gold. It's simply amazing! I love it when a polish that costs $1.99 can make my heart flutter. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hHgwSuOqnxQ/TyglthXJyuI/AAAAAAAAD0M/h_pN-ceGnFg/s1600/IMG_2032.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hHgwSuOqnxQ/TyglthXJyuI/AAAAAAAAD0M/h_pN-ceGnFg/s400/IMG_2032.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I do believe this would be an awesome base for Revlon's Whimsical, but my I couldn't find my bottle last night. So for now I'm just enjoying this beauty solo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-K34XvMaWXvE/TygmpPgNyRI/AAAAAAAAD0c/zCryUXcF9eY/s1600/IMG_2031.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-K34XvMaWXvE/TygmpPgNyRI/AAAAAAAAD0c/zCryUXcF9eY/s400/IMG_2031.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>I believe this color a part of the core line (it was at the store I finally found it in) but many have found it hanging out in the Heartbreaker Valentine's Day display. <br />
Did you guys have a good weekend? I did but they are always too short. So here we have my week five challenge mani: newspaper nails.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dId_Umryk7A/TybNtTcu59I/AAAAAAAADv0/AWS0b8sOlZA/s1600/IMG_2027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dId_Umryk7A/TybNtTcu59I/AAAAAAAADv0/AWS0b8sOlZA/s400/IMG_2027.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I had a tough time with this challenge mani. Who knew it would be so hard to get newsprint to transfer clearly to nails? <br />
<br />
I don't know if I had too much rubbing alcohol on my nails or if I wasn't pressing the newspaper down hard or long enough, but as you can see I got very light transfers. It was probably some combination of the three. Or maybe the Baltimore Sun uses cheap ink. LOL.<br />
<br />
It was late when I did this and I wasn't about to start over. Eh. I guess it's not so bad. Not great but at least you can tell what it is. <br />
<br />
The base is two coats of Petites Color Fever Vintage Gray. I like this gray because it doesn't give me corpse hands. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZNhD3hrI4U8/TybOX9otvHI/AAAAAAAADv8/1Qyhnk9TKLc/s1600/IMG_2024.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZNhD3hrI4U8/TybOX9otvHI/AAAAAAAADv8/1Qyhnk9TKLc/s400/IMG_2024.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Have you guys tried the newspaper print look? Maybe I'll try it again when I'm not racing against the clock.CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-24744255615568988672012-01-24T07:00:00.004-05:002012-01-24T07:00:09.044-05:00Nicole by OPI Walmart Exclusives--Swatches and Thoughts<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>I was roaming around the beauty department in Walmart last weekend, though I truly had no business being there, when I came across three new Nicole by OPI shades.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bmYqjYQlNww/Tx2wfWjSCLI/AAAAAAAADtc/gQGBN1TFVuE/s1600/IMG_1964.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="307" nfa="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bmYqjYQlNww/Tx2wfWjSCLI/AAAAAAAADtc/gQGBN1TFVuE/s400/IMG_1964.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Best Pink Ever, The Gold Shoulder, Fabulous is My Middle Name</td></tr>
</tbody></table><br />
I hadn't seen or heard of these, but I have no qualms about buying polishes swatches unseen, especially when glitter is involved. When I got home I did a google search and found that they are Walmart exclusives that came out this month.<br />
<br />
Let's start with The Gold Shoulder.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K_orFCljryk/Tx21odTX5uI/AAAAAAAADtk/aSsfucBCDnU/s1600/IMG_1968.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="247" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K_orFCljryk/Tx21odTX5uI/AAAAAAAADtk/aSsfucBCDnU/s320/IMG_1968.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
It's rather sheer so I used three coats to reach bottle color. It does lean rather silver on me but it does have a good amount of gold shimmer in it. Mine just settled to the bottom. I'd say this is a gold that would work well with cooler skin tones. As you can see in the pic I'm holding the bottle upside down so that I can encourage the gold shimmer to mix in. I did a fourth coat after I left the bottle upside down for a while.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-afJMKM7iKVI/Tx22pisGuMI/AAAAAAAADts/OgHknnKbHYk/s1600/IMG_1970.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-afJMKM7iKVI/Tx22pisGuMI/AAAAAAAADts/OgHknnKbHYk/s400/IMG_1970.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
It reminded me of OPI Designer de Better from the Muppets collection, so I did a little comp.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-otOSKOc-dJk/Tx25uEdLqXI/AAAAAAAADt0/Tt2_vYRUzfg/s1600/IMG_1973.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="307" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-otOSKOc-dJk/Tx25uEdLqXI/AAAAAAAADt0/Tt2_vYRUzfg/s400/IMG_1973.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">L-R: The Gold Shoulder, Designer de Better, The Gold Shoulder, Designer de Better</td></tr>
</tbody></table>The bases are similar but Designer de Better has larger coppery shimmer particles in it, whereas the golden shimmer in The Gold Shoulder is much finer. I'd say they're different enough to own both.<br />
<br />
Next up Fabulous is My Middle Name. This is three coats on its own. It's a multicolored bar glitter with teeny tiny silver glitters mixed in! This shocked me because the glitter is so fine and dense I didn't even realize that it was a bar glitter until I got it home and started swatching. There's fuchsia, red, blue and gold bar glitters in this rounded out with the tiny silver glitters. This is indeed fabulous! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YL5hHYjNoiQ/Tx29_yBy_PI/AAAAAAAADuE/tjyTB9oNTf4/s1600/IMG_1977.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YL5hHYjNoiQ/Tx29_yBy_PI/AAAAAAAADuE/tjyTB9oNTf4/s400/IMG_1977.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>I freaking love this. I'm not the biggest fan of bar glitters, but the glitters are tiny and dense enough to get you full coverage and I love that in a glitter. Keep in mind you will have to use the edge of your brush to tap any stray glitters on the ends of your nails back in line, but that's no big deal to me.<br />
<br />
Here's one coat of Fabulous is My Middle Name over The Gold Shoulder. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CgGPQYOpkyM/Tx265_E7j0I/AAAAAAAADt8/DnZsRnooFGo/s1600/IMG_1974.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CgGPQYOpkyM/Tx265_E7j0I/AAAAAAAADt8/DnZsRnooFGo/s400/IMG_1974.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
And one coat over black. I used American Apparel Hassid. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_CsrA6Gt3ko/Tx2-ojWMZxI/AAAAAAAADuM/hXjNUuE8M48/s1600/IMG_1982.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_CsrA6Gt3ko/Tx2-ojWMZxI/AAAAAAAADuM/hXjNUuE8M48/s400/IMG_1982.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Now we have what the people over at Nicole by OPI named Best Pink Ever. Seriously that's the name of the polish.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9EPA3jOVBLY/Tx3GzdPkNkI/AAAAAAAADuc/b8kHcnt7LoI/s1600/IMG_1985.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9EPA3jOVBLY/Tx3GzdPkNkI/AAAAAAAADuc/b8kHcnt7LoI/s400/IMG_1985.JPG" width="400" /></a> </div><br />
I can't say that I agree with them. The formula on this is super sheer. It took four coats to get a decent looking swatch out of this and in real life there was visible nail line all over the place--and I'm not a fan of that. And you see all that golden duo looking goodness at the bottom of the bottle? It's nowhere to be found on the nail. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A_kFcN62XS8/Tx3MdkutO3I/AAAAAAAADuk/ZImCV5g3-po/s1600/IMG_1984.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A_kFcN62XS8/Tx3MdkutO3I/AAAAAAAADuk/ZImCV5g3-po/s400/IMG_1984.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
It does have a nice blue shimmer running through it and I do like the fuchsia base. I just wish it weren't so sheer and I want that golden shift that I was so captivated by from the bottle. Maybe it'll do better layered on top of a similarly colored creme, but really if your name is going to be 'Best Pink Ever' you should be able to stand on your own.<br />
<br />
I paid $7 a bottle for these. Have you guys seen them at your local Walmart? If you happen across them I'd say definitely pick up Fabulous is My Middle Name. The Gold Shoulder is nice to have as well. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vjsatLfl7pg/TxyRCCZV6gI/AAAAAAAADns/Pje05eG1ZrE/s1600/IMG_1957.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vjsatLfl7pg/TxyRCCZV6gI/AAAAAAAADns/Pje05eG1ZrE/s400/IMG_1957.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>I did three coats of Sally Hansen Barracuda and stamped the plaid pattern from my Mash plate M60 with Sally Hansen Color Quick in Turquoise Chrome.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kaFOoNq5QdU/TxySBO-FgFI/AAAAAAAADn0/da1UiCsoWqU/s1600/IMG_1958.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kaFOoNq5QdU/TxySBO-FgFI/AAAAAAAADn0/da1UiCsoWqU/s400/IMG_1958.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I'm not thrilled with the way this turned out. I couldn't get the lines to transfer straight and the Turquoise Chrome overpowers the beauty of Barracuda.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">See here's Barracuda alone.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KAVmtNZ5LD8/TxyN2QkH9nI/AAAAAAAADnc/qbEWQX31J5Q/s1600/IMG_1953.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KAVmtNZ5LD8/TxyN2QkH9nI/AAAAAAAADnc/qbEWQX31J5Q/s400/IMG_1953.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">So pretty! </div><br />

<br />
My apologies for not posting the Week 3 challenge mani on Monday like I promised, but I had some computer issues last weekend and couldn't manage a work around until now. <br />
<br />
So here's my take on color blocking. I did some google and youtube searching on what a color blocking mani was *supposed* to look like, but I wanted something different. My first thought to was to do something based on those <a href="http://www.zales.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4421732&cm_ite=bracelet&cm_cat=goo&cm_pla=bracelet&cm_ven=paidsrch">tri-tone gold bracelets</a> but I ended up going with a burgundy tone for the third color instead of a white gold shade. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sZg6n-C2urg/TxwKoF9yIYI/AAAAAAAADlM/1XSkshlqPVM/s1600/IMG_1946.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sZg6n-C2urg/TxwKoF9yIYI/AAAAAAAADlM/1XSkshlqPVM/s400/IMG_1946.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I started with a coat of China Glaze Love Letters (my favorite "my nails but better" color). The gold is Nicole by OPI The Next CEO, the rose gold is Nicole by OPI It Starts With Me, and the burgandy-ish color is Nicole by OPI Sounds Grape to Me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cNpQ4JWBdz8/TxwLYZchHYI/AAAAAAAADlU/3uZ5QYVkdSg/s1600/IMG_1947.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cNpQ4JWBdz8/TxwLYZchHYI/AAAAAAAADlU/3uZ5QYVkdSg/s400/IMG_1947.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I probably spent a good hour and a half on this mani. I used tape to create the lines and sooooooo much Seche Vite. Seriously I think this mani added about a quarter of an inch thickness to my nails. LOL. I wasn't completely enamored with it at first but it grew on me the longer I wore it. I got lots of compliments over the week. Yes! I wore it for an entire week. <br />
<br />
Tomorrow I'll have a plaid mani to share with you guys!CeCe ManiCured!http://www.blogger.com/profile/13856407166072837176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1525360360897729652.post-18364841984015346692012-01-13T07:00:00.009-05:002012-01-13T07:00:03.771-05:00Funky Fresh French and A Challenge!I love a good challenge and while I'm not quite up to doing another round of 31 Days of Manis, I figured I'd delve into this weekly mani challenge I've seen floating around on the interwebs.<br />
<br />
I missed Week 1, but that was a "Make it Sparkle" mani, and if you've been reading my blog for a while you know there's no lack of that here on ManiCured. LOL. So I'm officially starting this in Week 2, which calls for a French Tip mani.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TXD6n3iGnkY/Tw-Wxjfo6kI/AAAAAAAADjo/1ZsxQ7-Agkc/s1600/IMG_1920.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TXD6n3iGnkY/Tw-Wxjfo6kI/AAAAAAAADjo/1ZsxQ7-Agkc/s400/IMG_1920.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I used OPI The Color To Watch as my base color and Wet n Wild's On a Trip, from their revamped megalast line, for the tips.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bpI6nLVGM1c/Tw-Z9_6hLnI/AAAAAAAADj4/rlDzUPIZEAA/s1600/IMG_1923.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bpI6nLVGM1c/Tw-Z9_6hLnI/AAAAAAAADj4/rlDzUPIZEAA/s400/IMG_1923.JPG" width="377" /></a></div><br />
Note, these photos are NOT color accurate. My camera hates purples so this looks way more periwinkle than in real life.It's more of a dusty lilac.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w6NDLRAdQsk/Tw-XQHf3BOI/AAAAAAAADjw/jH_ctyf-HxY/s1600/IMG_1921.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w6NDLRAdQsk/Tw-XQHf3BOI/AAAAAAAADjw/jH_ctyf-HxY/s400/IMG_1921.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
